Hey all .. So I've been inspired to have super lean / sexy sculpt body but I've been very inconsistent with my work outs and dont have enough stamina but this past week I've been very motivated.

I am 5'4 and weigh about 120-123 lbs. (it jumps up and down). This is the most weight I've carried and not too happy with it. I am NOT fat but I am also NOT skinny/lean. I have inner thigh fat, love handles, a little pouch, and I no longer fit into size 1 (24) jeans!

My body used to be comfortable at 115 lbs. but my goal weight has always been 105-107. It is pretty tough for me to loose the 10-15 lbs that I want because my body is quite healthy right now. I want to look a lot leaner and feel more confident for the summer!

I eat pretty healthy for the most part. I only occasionally eat unhealthy and for the MOST part I've cut out fast food and soda.

If you are on the same boat, please leave a message and become my fitness pen-pal :)

I basically got onto this forum for tips and tricks or work out routines.

TO ALL THE OVERWEIGHT MEMBERS ... PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY NEGATIVITY MY WAY. I AM NOT ASKING FOR ANY NEGATIVE OPINION(S). Thank you :)

Welcome to the forum.

You may be surprised to see me posting as I am a fair bit bigger than you - but I will try to give some positive advice. I have actually gained weight in recent stressful times...

I think that it is important that you ensure that your food plan includes enough protein. While it may be tempting to cut calories to the absolute lowest level to satisfy your hunger - it may be a false economy. There is no denying that a person who does not weigh much needs to eat at a much lower calorie level than a heavy person if they want to lose weight which does give you less calories to play with than a heavy person.

I think that it is therefore more important than ever for you to log all your food into a tracker tool (I use a free account from ) but not just to look at your calories but also your other macros - particularly protein and calcium.

There are a lot of people that give advice on levels of protein to hit (including people suggesting 1g per pound of actual body weight or more) - but when I lost weight in my 2007 to 2009 project I aimed for 1g per pound of lean body weight... For me that calculated as not much above 100g. You can calculate yours by using a body fat percentage - and use the lean opposite percent (e.g. subtract it from 100%) multiplied by your current weight to give your lean body weight...

Eating sufficient protein allows you to preserve your muscle while you lose weight so that you do not end up "skinny fat" which sounds like the place that you are in now...

I think that you need to cut your calories, do a lot of exercise (paying particular attention to building muscles with strength exercises - don't just do cardio) and hit those nutritional targets...

Good luck.
