Hi, I'm new here! I'm 36 years old with 3 teenage boys, 17, almost 16 and one that will be 13 real soon. I recently has neck surgery, which resulted in a 30 lb. weight loss due to not being able to eat very much, etc. I'm 5'3 and was 194lbs. before surgery and now am 160.8 as of this morning. My doctor put me on meds. to help relax my neck muscles, growing a bone right now, and I'm starting to eat again. I do not want to pack on these lbs. again, would love to even lose more!! I'm trying to count calories, but have no idea on how to do that for my body frame and height, also looking to exercise, but am on a ten lb. limit until next June!! Ugh!! Looking forward to meeting people and getting motivated! :)

3 teenage boys? Oh God bless you! lol I have 2 girls, 9 and 4! Congrats on your weight loss so far! thats great! I can't tell you off hand how many cals you should be eating, I can look into it though. I would suggest starting at writing down what you are eating everyday. Get a good idea of how many cals you are eating on average. As far as excersize goes, I love to recomend walking, esp. for people who are not physically able to do more. Walking is great though and every bit as beneficial as jogging or running.

suggests ~1,335 calories a day if you're mostly sedentary. Walking is a good way to start getting some exercise while you're still on lifting restrictions.

Thanks!

Thanks for the calorie and exercise tips! 1335 calories, does not seem like much, but then I will have to try drinking more water i suppose. I am willing to do what it takes to lose weight and be healthy, I'm 36 and feel like I'm 100!!
