Hi there. :)

Hey, my name's Haylee, I'm almost 18, and I've recently bought a stationary bike to lose weight.
If anybody fancies giving me some tips on the best way to use it, give me a shout. :)

Hi Haylee,

When you say loose weight do you mean you want to reduce your overall bodyfat? "Lose weight" isn't a term I like that much because you don't have to be really light to have a "nice" body and to feel good.

I'd try some HIIT on the bike a few days a week, with some steady cardio in between.

If you could add in some weight training days you would possibly see even better results.

Don't worry about thinking "I don't want to get too muscular" because nobody in the history of the world ever just woke up the next morning and had big bulky muscles, yet it's what a lot of people say when you first suggest weight training to them.

I find this especially with female friends. It's not a bad thing, just a pre-conception people have. If it was that easy there would be a lot more people (the ones who crave to have big muscles) walking around with massive arms and sculpted chests.

Good luck on your fitness journey and don't forget plenty of rest and good nutrition!

Yeah, reducing overall body fat.
I'm thinking about also joining a local gym if I have the money to.
Another question I was wondering about, when I pedal backward, the monitor shows that I'm dropping calories much quicker, and it's easier to pedal backward, is this maybe a fault or am I actually losing calories?
Thank you
