I am new to the forum.
I am 135 lbs 5'2" and I need to loose 15 lbs.

I was googling for weight loss buddies and found this forum.
Looking forward to making some good friends and reaching my goal.

heya! 15 pounds should be a breeze if you just adopt a healthier lifestyle and become more active. I let myself get to be over 80 lbs. overweight before I started to do something about it, so good on you for being preventative. Make sure that you're looking to become a healthier person in general, not just wanting to quickly lose that amount of weight for an event or something. This has to be a healthy lifestyle change you can live with if you want to maintain a healthy weight. Good luck to you and enjoy the forums, they're pretty cool! :)

I know 15 lbs sounds small, but for some reason, I am not able to stick to my diet very well.
I am pretty decent when it comes to exercise. I ran my first marathon 2 months back.

But I am very determined to get rid of those extra pounds this year !

Anyway, thanks for the welcome and looking forward to sharing more posts.
 
Ahh to only have 15 to lose....Oh well...good for you. Get after it and you will have that done in no time. Are you focused? I mean really focused? What are you gonna do different that is gonna get you to your goal?

Well yes, I do have few plans

1. Eating more protein
2. Working on building a little muscle(I am a female)
3. Strict diet on Mon-Sat and easy on Sundays.
4. Drink lots of water(This is one good habit I developed last year)
5. Exercise with focus on loosing pounds(My triathlon training starts in April)
6. Maintain a diary (I use Fitday.com software for that)

At the end of my marathon I was 131(Oct'08) and then I gained it back(I was sick of running/exercising :blush5:), so I am sure it will be easy for me to touch 131, but the real struggle starts afterwards.
As Amy said in the other post, I want develop good lifestyle habits and not just loose weight.

I will truely appreciate your tips/inputs/suggestions to help me reach my goal.

I agree, 15 pounds will be easy. You can do it with determination.

There are a lot of good tips in people's diaries in this forum. Check out Phoeynx's. I found her diary very inspiring and I went full throttle with my own diary as well, and it has been very helpful. I would recommend the idea of doing your own.
