Hi there

I was lurking around for good information and found that this site is full of it....information that is.

I am 35, 5'5", 173+/-

Looking to lose stomach fat I gained over last year.

I am (usually) active with horses and use to snow ski on a weekly basis for years, played soccer, hiking, and many others. Current job of 4.5 years sitting behind desk with bowl of candies always up front has been evil to my stomach.

Current workout schedule is 3-4 times a week, weights then cardio on treadmill. I work different areas of body every night when lifting weights doing 2 sets of ten reps. Cardio consists of (with 2 lb weights) walk 5 min, run 2 min, walk 3 min, run 2 min, walk 3 min, run 2.5 min, walk 2.5 min, run 2.5 min, walk 2.5 min, run 3 min, walk 2 min, run 3 min, walk 2 min, cool down for remaining until 40 minute workout is complete. I have worked up to this and I try to add a little time or a little speed or a little weight as I feel I can handle it.

Burning about 550-600 cal per workout including weights.

Starting to count the calories and watching nutrition again too. Too many chocolates and doughnuts last year went right to my belly. NO MORE! I am not looking to get huge just fit and get rid of this stomach fat the best I can.

My diet is...

9:30am - Oatmeal
11:30am - 300 cal lunch
1:30pm - 150 cal snack
3:30pm - 150 cal snack
6:30pm - dinner
9:00pm - snack

My goal has been to stay under 1500 calories. I know, I have read that I should be eating more but its hard to get my head wrapped around that idea. I am trying. I need to work on this diet which is key, I know.

Ok, I am going to lurk more and try to make lists of meals and foods. Any constructive criticism will be taken seriously.

Great website!

Welcome. I really encourage you to consider investigating your own nutritional needs. You can compute your metabolic needs and then drop it down 500 kcal. It really makes a difference to eat the right amount. Too little of the wrong of the wrong foods is just as damaging to your metabolism as too much. Best of luck!
