Hi there guys

I am new to this forum, but no so new at trying to lose weight.

I weigh 10.5 stone, about 165 pounds, and I am 5"2. This makes my BMI 30.2. I have been trying to lose weight by cutting out fizzy drink, alcohol, fast food etc, and being a bit more active, but the truth is, nothing seems to help, at all. I guess I just needed to talk about it to a few people who understand what I feel like because it is really getting me down!

I hope I can get to know a few people in here, and hear some advice on how to get started!

Thanks.

Sarah

well when you say ur being a bit more active what do you mean by that in terms of what exercise and time?

try to drink plenty of water in your day because it makes you feel less hungry and also try to eat foods that are high in fiber because they also help you feel less tempted to eat.

make little changes in your life like if you work in a building, instead of taking the elevator why not take the stairs??

also make goals for yourself that are reasonable.

Welcome to the forum.

The bottom line in weight loss is that you won't lose weight until you eat fewer calories than you burn. While cutting out junk and soda and alcohol can often make a big difference, if you're making up for those things by eating or drinking more of other things, you might not be really cutting back.

You need to really track your eating for a few days and see what you're putting in your body. Most people are really surprised when they start paying attention - a bite here and a bite there and all of a sudden those calories really add up.
