I joined this last night but don't see where I wrote. I am 47 year old woman who has been struggling with weight issues for years. I have lost 30 lbs but have at least 50 to go and am losing motivation. I am hoping talking to people will help me and maybe I can return the favour. Thanks Dep

you can do it. if you did the 30 you can do the fifty! that push you had for 30 just a put a lil lil more. remember and imagine the feeling of being at the weight you wanna and need to be!! goodluck! :seeya:

Thank you chinoxl, I am trying. I have been going to the gym about 4 times a week but just got whiplash so I am trying to do a few things to keep me going. How have you done and what are you doing and what goal are you working towards?

well i used to weigh around 180 190 up and down. cuz i used to skateboard. and that can be around 5 to 9 hours of workout. but for the past year ive had a bone tumor in my leg that led me to be bedridden for around a year... so i let myself go.. and ended up at 240. but since my leg is better im doing things slowly again. i stopped eating at night. and i do just 30 min cardio a day. ive lost around ten lbs with that alone right now. im not a hard worker when it comes to exercising. so im doing it in my pace. hahahah :blush5: but my ultimately goal is to get to 190 by september :] you think that sounds too much? well what are your goals!?!?!?

Hey Chinoxl

Wow it sounds like you have been through a lot. I hope you are doing much better now. You sound like your way of doing things is good for you and it sounds like that is your good weight. I am about 5'9" and 47 and female, as a teen I weighed 145 and would love to go back to that but the Dr. says it's unrealistic now. I was as high as 254 and got down to 218.75 but have now gained a few more. The Dr. thinks I should only go to 175 but when I have been even a bit lower than that I have not been happy. I guess I have to figure out a way to get my mind to be happy at a heavier weight. I have tried almost everything even herbal remedies but I have to tell you...last night a friend in her late 30's was sick all day and went into cardiac arrest and it isn't looking good, she is on life support now and someone said she had been taking a bunch of herbal things to lose weight. Pretty scarey. What do you think about all of that?

Skateboarding, whew? You must be young and have a lot of energy. Good for you. I was quite athletic in high school. Did a lot of running and I wish I had kept it up. Now I am forcing myself back to the gym and doing some wii fit. Sorry about the book, I only meant to send a small response. lol

Hi Dep,

I agree with Chinoxyl. You can do it. You have been losing pounds and with a little extra effort you will truly succeed with what you desire. What certain program did you do? Just curious.

Jim

HAHAHAHAHA your hilarious!! :sifone:
yeah im young. but im sometimes act like a 70 year old. all slumped and lazy.. with no energy. but yeah im slowly getting back to it. gotta take it day by day!!!! herbal!? id rather not.. the only pill i take on a daily basis are my fish oils :].... im sooo sorry to hear about your friend :/.. hope they are ok...
don't listen to the doctor. lose as much weight as you want. in a healthy way. and when you get to that 170 mark. and you feel like you can do more. and still be healthy (no anorexia or bulimic status) then do it. its your body... you know it better than anyone else in the world!!!!

If you want to find any of your postings you can find them by clicking on your name in one of your posting headings. (This works if looking for postings of other people too) or at the top right...

One of the options that comes up is all the postings of that person.

Another of the options that comes up is the profile and if you go there and then click on the statistics tab you can see all threads started by that person too.

Since these are in "most recent first" order - you should be able to find the recent postings that you are looking for.

If you want to build a support network - I suggest that you start a diary.
Also visit other people in their diary and leave a message and see if they visit you back. If they do - continue chatting and soon you could be good friends...

As for being unable to get lower than 175 - you should be able to get down as low as you want. I didnt get right down to where I was when I was young (but this is because I carry a lot of loose skin). I was able to get pretty low really. I am 50 - so we can still lose weight successfully when we are no longer in the first flush of youth.

Just as the others said - aim to eat healthily and exercise - and see what you look like when you get down to 175. If you feel comfortable there - feel free to stop. If you want to keep going - do so...

Good luck. :)
