Hi, I'm Erica. I found this site in October of last year and through the amazing help of this website, lost the last 1/2 of my 60 lbs weight loss. I am back here now to get a hold on my eating and exercising habits again. I wanted to reintroduce myself since there are probably many new people on here. I hope I will be welcomed back warmly :)

Welcome back. :)

What happened that you were unable to keep the weight off, if you don't mind me asking? Actually, maybe you did. So what happened that made you stop eating correctly?

Hi steve, no it's fine that you asked. I'm up about 3.5 lbs from my ideal weight (122). There were a couple things that contirbuted to thisweight gain. 1. I have chronic pain below my breastbone which the doctor's don't know the cause of. Within the last couple of months it has worsened to the point where I just can't exercise anymore because being inconstant pain (and running around after my toddler) just sucks all the energy out of me. Not to mention I'm usually recoving from some surgery or procedure. It seems, though, that we may be on the brink of finding out what is wrong, after 15 months of pain. and 2. I was on a diet for 18 months. In that amount of time I forgot what normal is. So sometimes I eat exactly like I used to on my diet and then some days I go crazy. I'm having a hard time finding that balance. so there you have it. :)

Hi Erica, Welcome back to this site. As you know this site is great from your past experience. I am new to this site but would like to say congrats on losing the weight that you wanted. I hope that you are able to get back into the swing of things and get to your goal whatever that may be. I'm guessing by your pic you have a little girl running around the house? I have a 3 year old who brings me to the point of exhaustion sometimes too but I have been trying to manage my time between him and exercising and eating right. So hopefully it won't be too hard for you and i to get to our goals.

Good Luck

Gotcha. That's terrible that they can't determine the root of your pain. I wish you nothing but the best in finding a cure!

Balance can be tough. With anything for some people, it's all or nothing. If I cheat once, I'm cheating the entire week. It can't be like this or you are automatically setting yourself up for failure.

I understand that you understand this.

But what can you do about it?

I'd suggest creating a diet plan that works the foods that you REALLY want into the equation. Deprivation is a surefire way to break the strongest of will.

Remember, it's mostly about calories. Work the foods you want (of course in moderation) into this caloric figure and you'll be better off.
