Hi Newcomer here.

Hello everyone I would just like to say happy new year and good luck to everyone. I started working out and dieting on the 19th of December. My weight was 293lbs. I don't know the conversion to kg. I was drinking at the very least 18-30 12oz cans of Dr. Pepper a day and would either not eat that day or once at the most. I work 2 jobs and its hard to get into a routine but i am going to do it. Since i quit drinking soda in the 2 weeks that have past I now am at 273 lbs. I know thats a crazy drop but I started eating a small meal every 2-3 hours and dont drink anything but water and a cup of coffee in the morning. If anyone has any advice i would gladly take it. I work about 16 hours a day. And i work out about an hour a day 5 days a week. Some days when I play basketball my workout extends to about 2 to 2 and a half hours. Basketball is very fun and a good workout for my cardio. I will be posting a before picture and keeping a month to month picture catalog of what I have done. Please once again any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi there!
Wow sounds like your on the right track to me!
The first thing you need to do is get a diary going. That way you can keep track of yourself. Also other people can come on over and help to motivate you.
Good Luck with you journey!

um how

Do you mean a diary online or a journal or what i am new to this. I played sports in high school and that was 5 years ago and i weigh about 50 lbs more than i did when i was in Football my senior year.

Go to the diary section and start a new thread. Make sure to give it a title. This will be your diary.
Just put the same kinda info that you did here in the welcome section.
People will find you. LOL
Really all your doing is journalling your thoughts and aspirations. Things that have happened to you that sort of stuff.
So give it a go!!!

Gratz on kickin the soda!

There is an online diary/journal here on the boards under Diet and Motivation. I was shy to do it myself at first, but after a week or 2 started one and have come to rely on it since.

Good Luck!

lol

lol well what your telling me is you want me to express my feeling and thoughts and stuff. um .... I am a dude. LoL I didn't know that was legal. Its hard to go all asperationy and stuff oh by the way how do I get one of those neat things you have under you post it a measuring stick thing.

I don't remember exactly but I think that if you were to just click on mine it should take you directly to the site where you can make one. Tell me if it works or not.
And Dudes can be sensitive too!!
There are actually quite a few guys on here. LOL

It Worked!!

Well lookey there it worked thanks for the help. I am doing this at work lol. So if anyone wants to talk or w/e i am here for a bit.

Good Job!
Now I would add that if you are going to start a diary just post here one last time with the title so that those of us who stop by here will be able to find you later on! And you of course may check out my diary anytime you want. Bellaryna's Journey
Congrats!!!!

Working New Years Day??? BOO HISS!!!

The diary is a tool for you- make it what you want. The basics should be covered to include what foods you consumed and any exercise. It's also helpful to note other factors that may have contributed to a good or bad day, so you can look back from time to time.

Congrats on the weight loss and kicking the cola cans to the curb! 20 pounds does sound shocking, but it's possible that drinking 18-30 cans a day caused your body to build up crud in it that was released once you doused it with plenty of water. It's even possible that your body was retaining more than 10 pounds of water. One other possibility is that you also have less (erm) solid waste in your digestive tract, though you didn't eat many meals beforehand, it's possible you were a bit stopped up. :)

Congrats and keep on it.
