Hi , newbie ...2 weeks into the Abs Diet Plan

Hi All,

Ive been a silent observer in this forum for quite some time , Its just 2 weeks back I decided to workout again .
This forum has been quite motivational :)

A bit about myself .
Im a 30 yr old male, My height is 5.6 .
I used to workout lightly a year ago (I was 152 lbs then) .Not exercised a year since then and had gained weight .
About 1.5 months back I was 165 lbs.

My target is to get to 143 lbs .
So about 1.5 months back I went on a GM Diet for a week,I dropped to @ 156 lbs .

After the GM diet I went on a decent 6 meal a day diet .(cut down all fats , sugar , beer ,colas, fried stuff etc )
Got myself a pedometer (Omron HJ 113) , walked for about 5 kms brisk pace for a month everyday that dropped my weight to @ 152 lbs

2 weeks back I got a book called The Abs Diet - David Zinczenko

Upgraded from the pedometer and got myself a good HRMS ,a Polar F6.

I have been religiously following the book for the past 2 weeks.Tried as much as possible to incorporate the 12 power foods it talks about .

Weight training -Monday ,Wednesday , Friday
Cardio -Tuesday,Thursday , Saturday,Sunday.

For weight training I follow the book (circuit training at home with dumbells )
For Cardio I jog on the road for 1 hour @ 6 kms =3.7 miles . ( 60-70% of HR max -@ 600 calories)
On Saturdays I drive outside the city and climb a hill and back , takes 3 hours ~ 1600 calories . ( Its quite HIT @ 80-90% HR max uphill most times.)

My current weight is 150 lbs.
For protein intake I just go natural , 2 egg whites in the morning immediately after the workout , with some lean chicken or fish every other day for dinner .
I don't want to have whey as of now .

I have taken a Photo of myself before I started the Abs Diet , @ 9th June.
Will take another one after 6 weeks i.e 21st July .

Am I on the right track ?
Has anyone found any "real " results with the ABS Diet .
Of course after 2 weeks I do observe that my body has toned up.
Do i need to take Whey ?

Phew that was a big intro ---Comments ?

TIA
~JJ.

Just Hi from a fellow Newbie

I'm 100 pounds heavier than you and I don't know the ABS diet.

But I wanted to say hi, wish you the best, and comment that it seems like you are ON FIRE.

Wishing you the best, Seth

I follow a variatoin of the Abs Diet. Focus a lot on those power foods. Cut out the HFCS and fried foods. Good to see you on here! If you're sticking around, make a journal/diary and keep track of your progress.

Yes I do track my weight and measurements and workouts in a excel sheet .
Increased wt by 10 % in the second weeks and increased sets.
Basically i used to do 2 circuits , now i do 3.

That's awesome. I think nc_bmac08 was talking about here though for the diary/journal...there's a whole journal category to start your own thread and people use it as sort of a homebase. Good way to get support and feedback if you want it and also talk to people here. I saw somebody today, although I don't remember who, who also does the excel sheet and just imported it in then journaled. Up to you though, welcome to the forum :)
