Hello

I joined the forum to find motivation. I think I have a good idea whats needed to loose weight but i always start lose a few then fall off. This time around I want to reach my goal and stay there permanently.

Here is my plan, I will eat oatmeal or special K for breakfast with a piece of fruit, yogurt for a snack, salad or soup for lunch and fish or chicken breast and vegies for dinner. I am not a big cook so I will need to find healthy recipes online.

I have started walking there is a 2 mile walking path near my home that i will use 5 or 6 days a week and my denise austin strength training tape 3 x weekly. What do you all think ?

Hello and welcome!
I think it sounds great so far. You seem to be fired up and you are thinking out a plan.

I walk almost everyday and I love it. I also weather permitting I hike. But that is something I would have never been able to do it I had not started walking first.

You will love this great place for support. Good Luck Tina

PS I love your picture. You guys look so happy.

Hi! I'm new too- I just joined five minutes ago!
I'm the same as you. Always start with good intentions but fall off eventually... The farthest I ever got was 40 pounds when I wasn't even trying 2 years ago. I joined my high schools basketball team. I'm 6'0 with a BMI of 30. I have yet to weigh myself... I think I just to keep it in BMI stations.... :)

Thanks ttnichols, I am trying to keep the walking up. I am forcing hubby to do it with me.

How are you doing this week?

Hi Bless881. This week went really well. My husband and I started last week thursday. In only a week, thursday to thursday, I lost 6 pounds and hubby lost 8. I cant believe it. We were aiming for 2 pounds a week. I think because its the first week in the new lifestyle it kind of jump started things. I dont expect to keep up that rate. Plus I dont think that amount is healthy for one week. However I am happy with it, its a great boost.

Hi Bouncy, I experience the same thing my first semester in college. I was living on campus and had a meal plan and dinner was last served at 7:30, the campus was large and I didnt have a car, so I did alot of walking and no late eating. I lost like 30 pounds without even trying. Then I started living off campus with roomates and got a car and then gained it back two fold. Stick with it, This is a good site for motivation. Just look at the before and after threads. If they can do it, so can we! Everyone who lost weight probably felt like us at some point. Good luck!
