Hi, just thought I'd introduce myself...

I'm in my early 20's (male). Since my late teens I've battled with self-esteem issues regarding my fitness, health and physical appearance, mainly manifesting themselves on the football (soccer) pitch and with the opposite sex :blush5:

During the summer, I made the decision to FINALLY lose weight, after countless failed attempts over the years. And so far, so good. I did a lot of research on weight loss and calorie counting, so am pretty well up on the relationship between excercise, calorie intake, BMR and so on (although there's more to learn, that's why I'm here!).

So far I've lost about 15kg (110-95) but it could have been more as I have this tendency to fall off the wagon every so often and binge. But I don't get too downhearted about it because unlike in the past, I always get over it quickly and return to the plan..

I play football three times a week, and jog or do a cardio session in the gym a further two or three days, so in all I'm doing a minimum of 30 minutes moderate to intensive exercise, 5-6 days a week. My current BMR is 2,136, my daily calorie needs when activity is applied is 3,311 and with a planned deficit of 1,000 for weight loss, I allow myself eat 2,311 calories a day max.

My daily diet typically includes two biscuits of Weetabix in a shallow pool of low fat milk for breakfast, vegetable soup, a brown bread sandwich with a thin spread of butter, filled with tuna, sweetcorn, peppers, onion and tomato and a Weigh Watchers fruit yoghurt pot for lunch, and I snack on apples in between. For dinner I just eat whatever my Mum makes, in balanced portions, usually rice, chicken, spaghetti, potato, vegetables, stuff like that.

So that's me. I joined this site because I still have a psychological issue with binging every once in a while, which, while not killing my weight loss plan, is definitely slowing it down a bit. Maybe with the moral support of a community such as this I can cut it out completely.. Also, I figure I may need fine-tuning tips at some point, as I continue on my journey towards my goal of 80kg!

Thanks for reading.
