Hi, it's great to be here

Hi,

My name is Irene, 17 years old and I recently joined the forum because I thought that this would be a great start to a healthier way of living. I’d like to get fit as well ( especially in my lower body and strengthen my lower body (legs).

I try to exercise at least three times a week by doing the jumprope for an hour and another goal of mine is to try to loose 5 to ten pounds

As for my food intake, I’ve been trying to get enough fibre into my daily meals but so far the only fibre I’ve been getting is from my oatmeal. Lunch and dinner varies (and most of the time it doesn’t come out as healthy as it’s supposed to) but breakfast is always oatmeal.

I hope you can help me with my goals. I’ve read posts in the forums and I’m learning a lot already.

Irene:)

A good way to get fiber into your diet is to buy a box of what in the US is known as Miller's Bran. It's pure wheat bran and you can add it to various dishes. Most people spoon it into cereal. This ensures you are getting a lot of fiber. There isn't much taste to it but it sure does the trick. This plus normal servings of fruit and vegies (NOT chips) ought to do the trick.
