Hey guys, just a bit about myself.

I recently fell into a major depression.. mother/grandmother died within a 6 month period. I gained 60 lbs very fast (eating shit food and laying around the house feeling like shit all day)

Well enough is enough, its over.

I'm going to be at 195lbs by January. I currently weigh 258.

I'm so sorry about your loss. Weight often reflects how happy and well people are, so gaining weight after such a difficult event is not rare, you're not alone!

You can lose the wieght and with it will come confidence and happiness. Exercise and healthy foods are good tools to fight depression and the blues with.

To start, I would recommend keeping a food journal that tracks your calories, protein/carb/fats ratio, and your fiber intake. A scale in the kitchen is also a great tool (for measuring oz./grams so you lknow how much you are actually eating. Lots of fruit, veggies, nuts, avocado, whole grains, lean meats, low fat dairy etc...

With exercise you can just start with nice long walks and work from there. I wish you the best of luck, you can do it! You deserve it! Your mother and grandmother will be so proud that you are taking care of yourself :)

*calorieking.com is great for finding out calories/nutritional info in food*

I am so sorry for your loss. Must be very difficult for you.
We all grieve differently and in different ways. It's very important to take care of you.
Gingerbabe offers good advice...... exercise and healthy foods are good tools to fight depression.

Don't be so hard on yourself..... take time to grieve, take time for yourself. Everyday will get easier.
