Hey, my name is Danielle. I am wanting to lose about 80lbs to get to a healthy weight. I used to be really small when I was in school, about 130lbs. I know 130 might not seem small to some but it is to me. Especially because I weigh about 100lbs more than that now. Since I have graduated high school(almost 9 years ago) I have been slowly getting bigger. I am tired of being big & want to become more healthy & active. I just wish I had someone to push me to exercise.

Welcome Danielle! Between exercise and nutrition where do u need clarity the most?

Probably nutrition because I do not like a lot of fruit & vegetables. My portion sizes are too big I'm sure. I live in an area where our Cajun food is a way of life. I have tried cutting calories but I never stick with it longer than 2 weeks. I like to walk for exercise & once I start I usually stick with it for a while but then it rains for a couple days & the process starts over.

Hey D Charp,

Welcome to the forum, I'm new here too and working on getting into a healthy routine. For me, long hours of sitting in front of a computer for work and not really having time to get on a fixed exercise routine has definitely had me searching for some way to drop the pounds. I have found something that works for me, though not all on here agree with it. To jump start the weight loss process, I started on a meal replacement shake program for breakfast and lunch and then really watched what I ate at dinner time. With this process I lost 30 lbs in about 6 weeks. Of course this isn't the only way to lose weight, but for me, I needed a set routine to follow that was easy and I could see results quickly to give me a morale boost. There is a need to get educated on proper nutrition regardless of what method you use to lose the weight, and finding the time to do at least something, anything, active during your day is crucial. You know, it's as much a mental change as it is a nutritional change that needs to take place in order to keep your weight loss permanent. Getting support and ideas on a forum like this is a great start!
