Hi everyone!

My name is Deanna and I just decided to do some googling to find a forum based on weight loss. I'm hoping to find some motivation and support on here and go through this struggle with the rest of you as well.

So far in my start I have gave up all fast food.. I used to eat a great deal of it and realized it's not doing anything but harming me, so as of last week I have given it up (hey - you gotta start somewhere). I've also cut back on drinking soda - hardly drink any right now. I have bought more salads to eat at home and more fruit to consume as well. I'm not a big fruit eater - so again gotta start somewhere.

I exercise at home with tae bo tapes or just doing general exercise routines that I have made up. I would go to the local apartment gym, but I don't trust people in this area so I'm not at the moment. I do need to start a daily routine in which I exercise after work EVERY day at the same time each day.

Now about myself - I'm going to be 27 next month. I live with my boyfriend in Maryland but we will be moving to Florida in July. Maryland was just a temporary thing until he finished school. I have a B.A. in African History, but currently I'm a teacher at a preschool. When I move I'll continue my job and may move up to management status, or I will teach in an elementary school - the doors are open, just depends on what I choose.

Anyways - that's my story so far and hopefully my progress will shine after finding this site.

Welcome to the site Deanna. :)

I'm glad to hear you've decided to make serious change with your life. And you're right, you've got to start somewhere. You're already miles ahead of the pack, as a vast majority of people never actually start. And giving up fast food and soda is a great place to start!

Naturally that should reduce your cals enough to trigger some fat loss. Couple this with some consistent cardio and resistance training and you're sure to reach your goals.

Hope to hear more from you.

Welcome fellow Md'er! I'm relatively new to the site but have found it quite helpful- especially the challenges! Good Luck in your journey!
