Hi everyone...I stumbled upon this forum while looking for some additional diet tips. I just joined a gym (again) a couple of days ago and I think I've finally found THE gym for me (I'm a little anal about how clean it is). When I was there tonight I weighed myself, noticing a few pounds that I put on over the holidays, and I was up higher than I've ever been. 185 to be exact. I'm only 22 and I just want to be in shape and healthy and I believe that part of the way to do so is to lose about 30 pounds in addition to building up my endurance and being able to run a mile without wanting to die.
As far as exercise goes, my favorite is biking. I worked at the local police department for the past two summers and my job was basically to ride my bike around the city for 10 hours a day (and get paid!) while doing that whole community policing thing. While biking is no problem for me, I feel like it's not doing that much for me weight-loss wise.
I hope that I can get some great tips, advice, and meet some great people while I'm here!
