Hi, my name is Darion.

I have been a big kid for all of my life. Now that I'm 18, I am seriously trying to consider getting in shape and losing all of this extra weight. I am about 240 pounds now, and I want to get down to 180.

Over the past month, I have been drinking more water, excercising a bit, walking nearly every day, but nothing has changed.

This past week, I dropped all sodas and I am only going to drink water, milk, and orange/apple juice.

I worked out today as well. Jogged/walked up and down my street 4 times, 250 jump ropes, 100 jumping jacks, 4 sets of pushups, 4 sets of bicept curls with 20 pound dumbells and 4 sets of leg raises (side, backwards, and forwards).

I need help because for the first time in my life I want to be fit and healthy, and have a nice body.

Can we post pics? I would like to show you what I look like now and see what you guys think about how long it would take to lose this weight.

Thanks. :blush5:

I can totally relate, I'm only 19 and i've been trying to become healthy and fit.
Looks like you're off to a good start, keep up the good work :p

Congratulations on making this important decision to do the best you can to take care of your body from here on out. When really commited to this decision, it's life-changing for the better. :) I just recently made it myself and after a month so much has changed already.

And this is a great place to be for encouragement, advice, and support because we can all relate. Welcome to the forum. :)

One thing I'd recommend is dropping juices. You're better off eating apples and oranges instead and then drinking mostly water. I was drinking a lot of juice and then I realized that they were adding a lot of sugary calories to my diet, whereas you can get the same benefit out of fruit without the added sugar or stripping nutrients and fiber. But that's just what I think, so it's up to you, of course. :)
