Hi, I'm Amy

I just posted in the newbie section as well, but this board seems very active, so I thought I'd say hello here too.

My name is Amy, I'm 26, and I live in Grant, AL. I am a freelance writer, currently writing for free, as I am going through a disability case because I have Fibromyalgia.

The Fibromyalgia is actually why I'm here. I want to lose some weight to better maintain the FM's effects and symptoms.

I've also struggled with my weight most all of my life. I am not looking for wonders here, I just need to be healthier.

I hope to meet lots of you all soon.

Amy

welcome to the site Amy. I have heard of the pain associated with your illness, but honestly don't know exactly what it is?

Hi Amy. Welcome to the board. I also have fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue. I don't work but I am unable to get disability because I am married. Oh well. Anyway, I'm glad you joined the forum. Maybe we can chat about fibro and how it sucks. :smash:

Hi Amy :)

Im pretty new too, but already i have had so much support and encouragment! Its great and it really does motivate me!

I have also started to keep a diary in the diary section. That is very cathartic and is a brilliant place to keep track of your goals and share success and moments of doom and gloom!

I hope that you achieve your goals and look forward to hearing about your success!

Thanks for all the hellos, I appreciate it!

Cycling: It's a neurological thing, where your brain doesn't produce enough of the "feel good" chemicals, so you are hypersensitive to pain, and fatigued. Basically you feel like you have the flu a lot.

Landons: I feel your pain. . . literally! :)

Bingo!!! I run a fever several days a week and get so tired I have to crawl up my stairs to get to the bathroom. Needless to say I'm not getting all the exercise I would like. Just reading your posts about spinning makes me tired. :biggrinjester:

Oh yeah, it's SO much fun! :banghead: *sarcasm* I have problems regulating my temp too.

However, you must be doing something right to have lost all those inches. . .that is great! Keep it up, and the rest will be gone soon!

I just now used the "free exercises" feature on this page, and targeted places where I have the most pain (shoulders and upper back), and threw some abs in to get get rid of my gut. ;). I'm walking too, when the weather co-operates. Right now it's too chilly, and you know as well as I do that chilly HURTS!

Here's hoping for a pain-free tomorrow for both of us!
