Can you help this guy out? I'm 27 5'9 217lbs. I starter at the gym about a week ago. Going in, running on the treadmill for 2 mile, stair climbing then free weights. I'd like to get down to 180 but put on muscle at the same time. I'm looking into supplements like Cell tech but am clueless to all this.
 
It's tough to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. For now I'd focus on your nutrition doing a total body routine spread out over a week. I'd aim for a 20% deficit under your maintenance calories. If you can stand it, try to keep carbs at about 25% of your caloric intake, bumping protein up to 50%. I wouldn't do it longer than 4-6 weeks though before switching to something like 40% carb 30% protein 30% fat. Hope that helps! =D
