Hello,

I just joined here moments ago. I've been losing weight using calorie-count.com, but I have decided to join here as well so I can learn as much as possible with new voices.

My starting weight was 160lbs with a bmi of 28.3. Currently I weigh 146 and I have a bmi of 25.9. I count calories, eat a little bit of everything and I don't do fad diets or pill-popping. Each pound lost has been through hard work. (Except for the first ten pounds which fell off... oh for more water weight...)

I decided to lose weight and replace it with a healthy lifestyle once I realized I was in a high risk group for heart attack and other nasties. My maternal grandmother died at 60 from a heart attack. My father, aged 55, has just had his third heart attack. I've made the decision that I can't eat myself to death in front of my daughter, so at 35, I'm taking a telling and reducing my risks.

That's me. :)

Yep... just as soon as I figure out how to do that. I'm cruising the site now. I got my profile updated. I'm sure there's an orientation somewhere, but by the time I find it, I'll have figured out the stuff I'm looking for. ROFL

Thanks for the welcome. :)

a few forums down - you'll see a diary section- just start a new thread in there :D

In the sticky thread (that is the thread up at the top of the forum) there's a little questionairre to answer if you feel the need - if not just introduce yourself :D

I'm an Islander too!

Hi CMillington! I just joined too, and live up island at Qualicum. I'm trying to do it the way you are, but have a real problem with moderation. It's a huge learning curve. Any tips you give are welcome. Redicious:D
