Hi from Canada, a jogger

Hey everyone, great looking forum looks like lots of information here so I had to sign up. Looking forward to meeting everyone around the forums.

Btw, I'm just getting into jogging and starting to learn how to last longer while jogging, looking to pickup some tips hopefully. :beerchug:

Hi,

Yes, I started with the elliptical over at my local Gold's Gym about 9 months ago. I progressed up slowly to jogging the bicycle trail in my city. (we have a trail called the bicycle trails). It's quite long and I've usually just pick a spot and jog the path for half hour periods until a few weeks ago when I picked up the pace and started doing 40 minute periods.

I might try to go for a full hour sometime soon, still recovering form last night, my legs are slightly sore form that 40 minute jog last night. The path is all pavement and from what others say, pavement seems to be hard on the body when jogging. :action11:

You are doing really well. I would suggest you stick with that for the time being and start working on your speed. Run for 30 minutes and mark your starting point and your finish point. Then try to go faster than 30 minutes. Do that every other run. What do i mean by that is for example: Mon: 30 min, Tuesday: <30min (eg 29:30) Wednesday: Rest Thursday: 30 min, Friday: <29:30, Saturday: rest and so on. This way your cardiovascular strength is going to increase which will affect your ability to run further for longer.

Yes, I always stretch before my jogs, but haven't ever been. Thanks for the tips when I feel up to a greater challenge I'll take this next step. hehe :)

peopl jog to the frigerator! you are out running for 40 minutes :action11:

jhehehe aint that smiley cute.

here take a burger flipper for the road :food:

what part of Canada? north of Calgary they have bicylce trails that I have ran down into the river valley thingy and to the parks, and such. Pavement is not that bad to run on. Cement and concrete are what will really get ya. Either way though, good shoes will protect ya.

Sweat Daily!
