Hi Everyone,
I've been reading the forum for a while and decided to formally join today. I'm a 45 year old male and have been on a weight reduction / lifestyle change plan since January 3 this year. I started out at 103kg (226 odd lb) and am now down to 84kg (185 lb). My goal is 80 kg for now and maybe a further 5kg next year.
I work in an office with an amazing food hall and I discovered I was just eating too much food. Large breakfast, large lunch, large dinner. I basically reduced the size of my lunch and "healthied" up my breakfast. I eat the same size dinner but no second helpings and desert is a minimum.
I ride my exercise bike for 10 minutes in the morning (ride hard enough to get my heartrate up to 75% of maximum at least) and then follow this with some simple weight work for my upper body. I also do another 10 minute ride in the evening.
I'm happy with how I'm going, and I think I can now sustain my routine.
Love this forum, it is totally interesting.

Wow you lost 20 kg already! I'm sure that shows (and that you feel it)! You're definitely close to your objective already!
It seems you are working at progressive changes, and I myself have found that was the best way for me to make long lasting (life sustainable) changes, so kudos on that!
Good luck on things: will keep an eye on your progress if you post it! :D

I will try and post updates, especially when I reach 80kg and the goal then will be to keep it off (been the hardest part in the past). I'll post updates about how things are trying to keep the weight off.
I do honestly feel really good. I noticed in your stats that you've done very well too. Keep up the good work. Feeling good motivates you through that next workout!
 
I agree on the keeping it off (*gasp*) and that feeling good/better helps to stay motivated!
Thanks for the compliments (it's always motivating! Sometimes it's hard for me to note my own progress! I need others to point it out - which feels quite silly!).
