Hi all,

I'm a mother of a 3 year old and just finished my PhD. I cooked professionally for years and LOVE food! Before grad school I weighed a nice 150; now after sitting on my ass for 6 years and having a baby I weigh 195.6! I'm trying to lose 40 pounds by summer with weight lifting, cardio and the Gillian McKeith eating plan; basically all whole foods, no dairy, sugar, booze. After I had my son I dropped almost 20 pounds doing this....I fell off during the last push of my dissertation. Anyhow, I am happy to be here and look forward to the support!:newbie::newbie::newbie::newbie::newbie:
 
Welcome aboard, its great to have you. You are very accomplished. Keep posting and you will find this a great tool to help with motivation and knowledge. You can do it.
 
Welcome to the forum! I hope you like it here so far. I recommend the diary section if you are into blogging your daily/weekly food and progress! Also a great place to meet people working towards the same or similar goals!
 
Nice to meet both of you! I bought this beautiful red leather journal at B&N and I've been carrying it in my purse so that I can write down every bite of food I put in my mouth. It's amazing how many "little bites" of my son's food I found myself reaching for. Alone, I eat well, but it's the nibbles that are adding up the pounds...oh yea and the complete lack of movement :) Anyhow, thanks for replying and I look forward to getting to know you two! HOw much are you each trying to lose?
