Hi everyone!

Hi guys! I just joined this thread so that hopefully I can stay motivated and lose the 'last 10 pounds!' I am 23 years old, 5'5 and about 143 pounds. I am trying to lose 10 more pounds, and for the first time in my life I am doing it the healthy way. I would usually not excercise, and only eat abour 800 calories a day. I always did this before an event (wedding, party etc.) or a vacation. Sure, I would lose a lot of weight, but then gain it all back plus some in a week. I did this so many times that my metabolism has slowed down signifigantly. I decided that I needed to make a change, so I bought a home gym and started running, and started eating about 1300 calories a day of mostly lean protein. It is so hard for me to accept the fact that I need to have that many calories, especially when I only lose about 1 pound a week, as opposed to 5 or 6 pounds a week when I was starving. It is hard to stay on track when the results come so much slower, but I am trying really hard!

I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say and supporting eachother! :)

I'm glad you realize that short term diets do not work in the long run. A true change to a healthy lifestyle is required for you to lose weight and keep it off. This forum is great for staying motivated and it has a lot of readings that can help you reach a great level of fitness and establishing a very healthy diet.

I suggest starting a journal, documenting your weight, diet and exercises.

Good luck :)

Welcome!

Your 1lb loss a week may be slow, but you're gonna keep it off this time and not gain it back. You can do it! There's lots of support here to help you through it.
