My name is Nicole and I joined WLF in the hopes of finding the support and motivation I need to get healthier. I've been trying to do it on my own for some time now but it's just not working. I know what it is I have to do but I just can't seem to stick with it. In the meantime, the number on the scale just keeps getting higher while my self esteem is at an all time low. This is my first time joining a weight loss community. I'm not sure what to expect but I'm hoping that it will give me the edge I need to finally shed those 50 extra pounds. Looking forward to talking with you all.
 
Nicole the first and most important step you have taken, you realize that what you are doing now isnt working...so next we need to start a food diary as well as list of positive attributes that you have. The food diary basically is going to list what food you are eating, what time you are eating, how much and how you feel whether you are hungary or full and then also if you are angry, hurt, resentful, happy, glad, peaceful....


the second part of this step and every morning when you get up this week I want you to write down two to three good things that you like about yourself.... and then you are going to reread them every day for the next month and after about two weeksof your food diary we are going to go over it...there is no right or wrong answers we are trying to figure out a pattern here so that we can move forward with your weight loss journey....


You are on the road to a healthier you look at it like baby steps every step you take down this road is a step closer than you were the day before....


Just do the best you can each and every day and remember if you mess up just restart with the next minute after you feel like you made a wrong choice......keep posting together we will get thru this... Lynda
 
Well I did what you suggested and wrote down what I had to eat during the day and at what time in my "The Journey Begins" diary. I forgot to jot down a couple of things that I like about myself so I'll do that today.

Ok continue writing and also remember to add to thelist of your assets. Also I want you to start thinking of something to reward yourself with after you lose your first 10 lbs, it cannot be food, it could be a movie, a cd, a concert just something that you have been waiting to do but didnt feel like you could...make it a special thing keep walking forward
