I have been lurking on this site for a while and have now decided to post. i started at 21st 8lbs in July 2010 now my weight is down to 17st 8lbs i want to lose at least another 3st 8lbs.

I am not on any diet i am just eating better food that isnt high in fat and i am counting calories. I joined this forum to try and learn more about healthy eating and get a little extra motivation from all the people on this forum who have done really well losing weight.

I also haven't been exercising much due to the fact i am embarrassed to go to the gym because of my weight but hopefully in a few months when i lose more weight i can start working out and build up some muscle.

Welcome!

It's was a good idea to start posting on here as it realy helps motivate you! make a Diary for everyone to see and advise you, I did and its realy helping me so far!

Good Luck! :D

Welcome Pablo. You should never be embarrassed to go to the gym. I felt that way at first but I realized 99% of the people there could care less about what you're doing or what you look like. In fact, people there can be very helpful. Just put on your headphones and do your thing. And listen to brooks' advice :)

Welcome aboard. :)

Don't forget there's quite a bit you can do to become more active in the privacy of your own home!

Alot of people tell me that but i am a very shy person and i dont like being in front of everyone exercising i feel they all think i am too fat and will fail in a few weeks. I know deep down it is silly but i just cant help but feel that.

Yeah i have been doing some exercise in my home but im not sure what is best to do i joined this forum to lean more about living a better lifestyle and im willing to do as much research as it takes to find out. Im glad you posted on my thread because i have read all of your Sticky's and posts on other threads and i learn alot from them all.

Then prove them wrong! Yesterday, a guy that works at the gym noticed I had lost some weight and complimented me. It felt pretty damn good. Show 'em what you're made of.

Yeah, I agree that your perception of the reactions and judgments you'll face at the gym are probably a bit off. That said, I've been doing this a long time and realize going to the gym isn't for everyone. That's partly why I built one of my gyms as a private training studio.

If you opt to stay in, you could do some sort of calisthenic routine. I'm not sure of your exercise readiness. Definitely start slow. Things like body weight squats, lunges, glute bridges, modified pushus, rows, etc are great. You can do them for high reps and low rest between sets/exercises to get a cardio effect with a hint or strength training.

Just a thought.
