Hello -- I am brand new here -- this is my first post --
A little about myself and why I joined --
I am 5' 5'', and in 2004 I lost weight counting calories -- I went from 209 to 158 and then leveled out at 165, and managed to keep it off until last year.
Then a combination of things -- stress, hurting my lower back (which pretty much immobilized me to my chair in front of my computer all day in gut wrenching agonizing pain), and subsequently consuming mass quantities of Cheez-Its and other junk food daily to console myself -- resulted in me gaining back some of it. My back got better, but my eating habits didn't -- little by little my weight started creeping up, and I topped out this time at 189. I was really afraid of hitting the 200 mark again, and finally found the motivation to do something about it.
I started counting calories again this past May, and have so far lost 13 lbs. My goal is to weigh what it says on my driver's license -- 158 -- 18 more lbs to go -- and hopefully do it by Thanksgiving -- and most importantly -- this time keep it off for good.
I am here because I am very interested in reading about other people's weight loss journeys and how they are doing it -- and this time I don't have a "diet buddy" (last time my daughters dieted with me -- they have kept their weight off so this time I am going it alone) -- so I am hoping this forum will be my "buddy" --
Nice to "meet" all of you --
Karen
