I just wanted to introduce myself. I am 35, recently laid off and waiting to go back to work next month. I realized one day sitting at home watching tv and eating, that - that was ALL I had been doing the past 3 months... Soooo, a friend of mine and I decided to join the gym and watch what we ate. I have lost 4.5 lbs. since last week and I'm thrilled! I have been "lurking" for awhile and really love the sight so I thought I would intoduce myself.
 
Welcome and congrats on your success so far!! Keep it up :) I recently relocated and had to go in search of work for the first time in ages...it was hard, but eventually I found something. The best thing you can do while you have the time off is work hard at your goal and keep yourself motivated. Just think how awesome it will be when you start a new job after having lost some weight! Pretty super fantastic I would think :D It sure was for me anyway!! Best of luck my dear!
 
Thanks laceygirl! Actually I will be going back to the same job (I hope) so to look at it that way is even better. They will see the efforts that I have made while being off - and I plan on keeping up the gym when I do go back and probably forever. I actually love the gym! And if someone would have told me that a few weeks ago - I would have laughed at them and told them they must be talking about someone else. It works for me though - I HAVE to get up and drive to the gym so there is effort to even get there. It works out better for me then working out at home.
