Hi everyone, I'm Max.

I signed up a while ago and haven't posted anything since.

I'm 27, 5'10", and 210 lbs. A year ago I was at 245, and I'm looking to lose the remaing 30-50 pounds or so.

Currently I'm doing allot of walking and jogging when I got the energy. I'm aiming for 50+ miles a week and reaching 30 - 40 miles a week.

I've also started incorperating weightlifting into my excercise regiment. I'm starting to get the hang of it now since I've never really done weights before.

As for diet, I got that well under control. I've dropped soda and replaced it with water. I'm controlling portions and making healthy choices.

Currently I think I got a problem with water weight. Jan. 3rd I stepped on the scale and it read 206 - 207. Since this weekend it's been reading 209 - 210. I got faith in my regiment, I got faith in myself. I use a body fat meter and it shows progress (I was at 36.2 - 36.8 and now I'm 35.2 - 35.8) I really think the only logical explaination is water weight.

Like I said I got faith in myself and my regiment, it's just this water weight, or whatever is going on, is a bit annoying. I went through something similar last year when I started losing weight, I just have to ride it out.

I guess that's about it. Just wanted to say "Hi" and see if anyone else also experiences sudden reversals on the scale.

Hi Max,
Welcome to the WLF!

I have to say, what I loved about your post was this:
I got faith in my regiment, I got faith in myself

That is a GREAT place to be!

Like you, I was getting around 40 miles a week of walking/jogging - right now, I'm down to about 25-30. It is something I love!

Good luck to you on this journey - it looks like you've got a good plan in action!

The change in water weight could simply be a change in temperature or the amount of sodium in your diet, it could be that you need to drink more water, because your body is too thirsty and is holding onto it, or there could be other things I'm not thinking of. The good news: you have a plan, and are working it.
Keep it up! :D
