New to this...really, really have to lose weight and I thought some on line info and support might help. I would like to lose 84 pounds by the end of this wonderful new year.
I've (very) recently quit smoking, just finished my first week smoke free and so I would like to incorporate some weight loss and improved fitness into this new healthy direction I'm taking.
Looking forward to meeting you all.:)

Heya welcome to the forums.

Ive lost over 100 now which is great, but im working on the smoking bit. Not to sure which is harder yet lol :D

Wow, both at the same time, that's tough. I quit smoking last February and it was truly awful. With the physical withdrawal symptoms (including some nasty gastro side effects... let's just not go there) -- I could never have dieted at the same time. I think revamping your entire lifestyle to lose weight is every bit as hard as quitting smoking.

You go, both of you!!

Heya's Healthy,
Welcome and goodluck to ya! That was almost my
starting weight I was atleast 255 when I started and I have lost
64 lbs with 41 more to go! It can be done and in a healthy nonpainful
way lol! You can do it have a gr8 night,Tammy:)

Hi Health4me,
Welcome to the WLF!

Like Tammy, you and I have very similar start weights - and the good news is, you CAN lose this weight! It seems so overwhelming at first, but you know - it's just one pound at a time!

Thank you all for your welcomes.

Renewal, I know exactly what you mean about the side effects!LOL

Yes, doing both is going to be hard, some people might even advise against it, but I'm trying to think of it as one, a whole different way of life.
