Hi everyone (warning: long post lol)

Seeing as he had never heard of leptin resistance and was flat out incorrect about certain statements (no offense Michael!), I was curious about the specifics and why you believe otherwise. If its a bother then that's OK. Since you're the person who turned me onto leptin, I'm just glad you got me looking into it. I think understanding it is just really cutting edge stuff.

You can't hijack an abandoned thread anymore than you can steal a bicycle out in the middle of the desert.

It was probably abandoned because this turned into a thread between you and Blancita. Its easy to create a new thread for debate.

Luckily baby is still on the forums after all that.

You realize how little sleep I'm working on here? Normally when I see that type of post I have two reactions:

a) hit back (lol)
b) cuddle time

So I'm not even going to respond and insist on cuddling.

This started because I commented specifically on baby's plan, noting that she, a person who likes to eat one meal a day at dinner and then had the problem of snacking the night away (which is possibly how she put on her excess weight), wanted to seemingly force herself to switch to eating 3 meals to lose weight and possibly to avoid the night time snacking. I commented that she could accomplish this on 2 days if she prefers less meals, but to eat enough at these two meals that she's not starving at night and to avoid lots of out of control cravings. Michael then posted about how he disagreed with my advice and made some scientific statements which I did not believe were correct, so we debated about it. We did not go off topic nor were we rude to each other or get personal (though I found it surprising that Michael jumped in about my advice, which I thought was a decent way to try to control the night time snacking and still stay as close as possible to baby's preferred style of eating).

So I ask, what is the harm in threads taking a course like a conversation would, ever changing and meandering but still sticking to the topic at hand?

I didn't abandon the thread. And it wasn't a post and run. I have just been extremely busy the last few days and havn't had the time to be on here.
I may not reply to every single post, but you can be sure I read them all. I find everything that has been said interesting (although at times a little confusing lol)

And Blacita, the late night snacking isn't how I put on the excess weight. I've always been overweight. My whole life. The late night snacking only started really the last couple years since I've been married and have been staying up during the night so I can sleep when my husband does during the day. I actually havn't gained any weight in a long time, I just can't seem to lose it. I've been staying at a consistent weight for a couple years now. .

On a bright note...I've lost 6 pounds :)

I didn't see that. So I must be really 'off' today!

Can you quote where he mentioned this?

and was flat out incorrect about certain statements

You mean flat out incorrect like this statement you made?

Leptin is a hormone, not a protein

:p

Also, can you provide quotes to where Michael was "flat out incorrect" please?
