Hi everyone new

Hi my name is joy and I am just getting back to fitness after a long while off. I am fed up of being fat and 38 and decided to do something about it but not in a fad diet kind of way. I live in Doncaster England and am extremely busy all the time. i work as a midwife which I feel I am quite good at, but i am terrible at keeping the house clean and tidy. My life is unorganised chaos I,m afraid. I am married to Miles who is also just getting into fitness, we have 3 children Marcus 13 and twins Piers and Lydia 5. Both boys are autistic and they are a full time job sorting out hospital/ school appointments, making sure theire needs are met, dealing with tantrums and anxiety etc and making sure their sister isn,t too affected by the chaos. As you can see their was little time for me but now the twins are at school i am using some of that time to go to the gym and hopefully lose some of the baby belly that comes with a twin pregnancy. So far I have lost 17lbs and feel so much better I have lots more energy and trust me i need it. Hoping to gain lots of inspiration and advice so i can look better than ever.

sounds like you have a lot on your plate...but it also sounds like you are doing a great job losing 17 lbs already. just stick to a good diet and do any kind of exercise and you will keep losing

good luck

Haha, how wierd, we have a Joe Bedford here too, any relation?

Good luck in your goals. What have you been doing to lose the weight?

Thankyou for your welcomes. I noticed their was a joe Bedford and no we are not related at least i don,t think so. Bedford is my married name and I only know a few of his relatives.
To lose the weight I have just been eating healthily, cut out all sweet things and rubbish food really. I have always made sure i cook healthy food for the kids but tended to eat a load of rubbish in between meals. I also work shifts and went for long periods of time without eating and then ate loads, i have been making sure i eat every 3 hours and loads of fruit and veg. I also drank too much alcohol and have drastically cut down. I have recently had food intolerance testing and have cut out all dairy, eggs and gluten and this has definately helped my energy levels and cut out loads of minor health niggles as well.
In the past i have been a member of every slimming group going and then put on the weight this time i didn,t want to diet so have really focused on exercise and a healthy lifestyle. However it is really hard fitting it around the kids and their needs as well as work, but worth it for my increased energy and at least i am a positive role model for them and they have a new mum who does more with them now. I can now also run after my little livewire when he runs off in the supermarket something I couldn,t have done last year. Istill have another 24 lbs to lose but for the weight i am I feel slimmer because it is toning up and now people are tarting to notice it has given me even more motivation.

I have a doppelganger! Welcome, Joy. If we are related, it is way back. I am in the US, though two generations back was from the UK.
