So I thought I would take a couple minutes to introduce myself.
My name is Melani and I'm 18 years old. I've always been a little overweight, but for a long time it never bothered me. Well, through high school, I gained a bit of weight and I became self conscious as I realized that I wasn't exactly in the best shape. Now I'm ready to really try to get rid of this extra baggage. I've recently started college, so I'm living away from home so that doesn't help much with my eating habits. But I do have full access to the on-campus rec center, which is amazing. Over the past few weeks I have begun to slowly get myself into a fitness routine, and have been trying really hard to eat better. I haven't lost any weight yet, as far as I know (I don't have a scale in my dorm, I only weigh myself when I go home). My first goal is to lose 30 lbs by the end of the winter semester (4/28/07) which is also two days after my 19th birthday!
My plan?
I've already completely cut out fast food...there is only a Taco Bell on campus and I hate it, so that makes it really easy. I eat a lot of Subway (Turkey wraps with honey mustard and lots of veggies), and there is an awesome salad bar in the dining hall. Also, a couple of weeks ago I went through all the junkfood that my roommate and I have and I gave it all away to the guys down the hall lol. Other than that, I'm just going to workout, eat healthy, and be confident that I can do this!
