Hello internet :waving:

I'm a work at home mom of an almost 2 year old son. I recently (and by recently, i mean almost 2 weeks ago) started trying to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I've been holding onto 20 extra pounds since my son was born, and admittedly i was doing nothing to get rid of it until now.

I started my own version of South Beach the Sunday before last. The reason that i call it my own version, is because i skipped phase one entirely and have not stopped drinking red wine. (I usually have 2-3 glasses a night, and I have no intention of cutting that out - it keeps me sane.) I have been following all of the other rules so far, and with some success. I've lost about 7 pounds since I started the diet, and I am happy with that.

I also walk about 4 miles a day (with my son in his stroller). 2 miles to the park, we stop and play, and then 2 miles home. He absolutely loves it, and so do I. So far, that's about all of the excercize I'm doing, but I am looking to join a gym soon. I just have to find one we can afford.

Oh well, that's all. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and (hopefully) meeting my goal weight!

Good luck on your new adventure. The walking pays off. You dont have that much more to go. Advice: stay on track, dont let your motivation fail.

im curious what do you do at home... i was actually trying to figure out what kind of job i could find while staying at home...

4 miles a day??? thats really good... in two weeks you lost 7 pounds??? wow... it shouldnt take you too long if you continue with those kinds of results good luck!!!

Hi ;) I do freelance web design. I've been lucky with it, and have an actual waiting list these days. It's a great gig if you're good at it!

Thanks so much, I hope that it won't take too long. I really want to have another baby, but I promised myself that i'd get back into shape before embarking on another natural home birth. :hurray:

omgosh girl i am soo envious... maybe thats the wrong word... your like my idol! home-birthing and red wine... can it get any better than that?!? lol!

haha tell me about it. Those are my two favorite things. Unfortunately, I can't enjoy them at the same time. That would be naughty. LOL

Oh yeah, my son is almost 2 and i break a sweat chasing him around the house most days! hehe. Hey, maybe he's the reason i finally started losing some weight! Does that mean i can have some pasta now? :rotflmao:

hehe... well i guess the proper thing to say is "you can have pasta in moderation" ... blah... have you ever tried that whole grain pasta??? kinda like whole grain bread im guessing... sounds pretty yummy to me!!!

not yet. i am still avoiding all pasta, bread, and potatoes. maybe some day i'll reintroduce them, but for now i'm doing ok without. i do miss them though!

Welcome

You are going to really love this support system you have found. I really enjoy whole wheat pasta and you can do alot with it. I will simply stir fry in olive oil broc, onions, mushrooms, edamame and garlic. I will put a serving size of cooked penne in the pan and stir fry it a little. It is great! the edamame is very filling and really good for you. Oh yeah you could put a little ginger soy sauce in if you like. YUM! Enjoy and good luck to you! Tina :seeya:
