Hi, i am really looking forward to losing weight here with you guys. im currently 5'10' and 160 pounds. a commercial modelling agency was interested in me, but only if i were to get down to 140. Its a really good oppurtunity, but i am struuugggglllliiinnngggg. Basically, i SUCK at trying to train myself to cheange my eating habits and start an exercise regimen.

I want to try eating about 500 calories per day starting monday and im working on building up a regimen of meals that i eat daily.

every morning, i drink a rawegg/almondmilk/wheatgerm/wheatgerm oil shake that is about 100 calories or less, depending on how much of it that i drink.

after that, i just go downhill and start eating everything. in. my. house.

Hi there Michele!

Please, please, don't try to live on 500 cals a day. Your body needs substantially more than that just to function correctly.

You mentioned your breakfast... why not try starting the day with something a little more filling and nutritious? Oatmeal's great. Lots of fibre and it keeps you full for quite a while so you don't end up eating everything in your house :)

For the rest of the day, try basing your meals on lean protein (e.g. skinless chicken, fish), unrefined carbs (e.g. wholewheat pasta) and tonnes of veggies. Snack on fruit and drink plenty of water... honestly, you'll feel much better than if you try to restrict yourself so much.

And exercise! But don't think it has to be terribly hard or boring. Just do what you enjoy. That might be walking, running, swimming, dancing, trampolining, hula-hooping... or all of the above... :) If you like what you're doing, you're much more likely to stick with it long-term.

Aim for a maximum of 2lbs weight loss a week... you could be where you want to be in just over 2 months.

Good luck, Michele - you can do it!

festdevil is right on, great advice!

I'll add, do what you want to do and what makes you happy, but beware the modeling industry. It could drive you to do some crazy and unhealthy things, to fit the mold of what they want you to be. Be what you want to be, not what someone tells you you should be.
