Im hope someone will be able to help me. I'm 59 years old. I've always been somewhat active. I can stand to lose around 30 lbs. For the past 2 months I've been walking 1 1/2 hr 6 days a weeks. Walking at a good pace. I'm up to 4 miles. My weight is 183 and I need to get down to at least 150. I donot eat processed foods. I juice every morning. My daily calorie intake is 1500 to 2000 daily. My weight has not budged. I'am so frustrated and defeated. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong or give me a plan that I can follow that might help me.

Thank you.

You might try to add weights to your walking routine. Doesn't have to be alot, maybe a few pounds on your ankles or carry some light dumbbells in your hands. Adding some strength exercising is one of the best ways to increase weight loss as the added muscle will burn more calories and increase your metabolism.

AThanks Mike. I was doing that's for about a week. Then I read that walking with weights can raise your blood pressure . Blood pressure and cholesteral are two things that I'm fighting. The main reason I want to get some of this weight off. Thanks for responding . I really appreciate all the help and suggestions I can get.

AHi,
I'm not really sure ur calorie intake seems spot on but what kind of foods r u eating. I'm a bit uneducated when it comes to this so I can't give any advice although my blood pressure is borderline high just now and it'll b down to the fact I've put on a bit of weight so I need to get it down. I was under the impression that exercise will lower it so I've just started running was doing it on a treadmill for a couple of weeks but started outdoors today. I didn't know adding weights increased blood pressure. Maybe it will in the short term but when the weight drops off maybe it will stabilize. But I don't know maybe ask ur doc about that. The doc will check my bp in 8weeks so I have 8wks to get mine under control.
I'm sure you'll find ur way.
