Hi Everyone:

I am new to this. Really I have never done this before. I need help to lose weight and tone up. Over the last two weeks, I have had some eye opening experiences and have decided to do something about it. I guess I am trying to get revenge. I am very upset right now and very determined to get back into the best shape ever. The revenge is against my husband. He has been very stupid the last couple of weeks and I want him to pay for it. A couple of weeks ago, he worked with a former playboy model. He talked about what a fabulous body she had and especially her butt. To the lady's defense, she does have a great body and she was very appropriate. I am sure she would not be interested in any 62 year old man. It hurt me that he was so interested in her but that wasn't bad enough. Saturday night, we went out on a "date". No kids for a change. We went to an event and there was a younger woman there with a mini skirt on that was about 6" long. He asked me to take his change and go throw it in front of her so he could watch her bend over. He thought it was funny. I was furious. So this is why I am determine to lose weight and have the best body ever. Let him worry about who thinks I am hot. Actually for my age, I am not that bad now. I just need to loss that dreaded weight around my belly. About two years ago, I lost 30 pounds and have kept it off. I still need to lose 20 more. Any suggestions as to what I should try? Please help me. I really want to get even. Thanks.

your post cracked me up a little because it was my husband's neglecting me that gave me MY determination to lose weight when i joined this forum a few years ago. i was angry because he no longer paid any attention to me, just the kids. i became to babysitter, maid, and cook all wrapped up in one. i decided i would lose weight and then other men would look at me. well thats how my weight loss began, but i never did end up cheating on him like i had planned from the beginning. i should thank him now for this body because if i wasnt so angry and determined, i would not have gone from a size 18 (210 pounds) to my current size 2 (110 pounds).

i had 3 small children under 3 at the time so i would walk around my neighborhood in the evenings after i made the family dinner (which i never touched). i wore a pedometer and walked fast for 45 minutes EVERY night. in the beginning (only the first few months) i took trimspa, which i DONT reccommend, i'm just telling you what i did. the first month i lost 12 pounds which gave me the motivation i needed to press on. in the afternoon i ate a half can of tuna mixed with mustard and a boca burger (lots of protein). and in the evening AFTER my walk and right before bed, i ate a burger king salad with chicken i had picked up earlier that day. i looked forward to those salads like you wouldnt believe! sometimes i would also have a sweet thing afterwards too. i drank lots of water and coffee and green hot tea. i lost weight slow and steady for many months. i remember looking back that i did hit plateaus that sometimes lasted a couple months. i know why, because i was doing it wrong....not lifting weights. not eating right. i'm still doing it wrong. but the main purpose of my post is to let you know 2 things: you cannot spot reduce. i know you want to lose that belly, but your body decides when, where, and how much it wants to lose the flab. and secondly, you do not HAVE to join the gym or have a crazy workout to lose a large amount of weight. walking will suffice and its free! and you can use things around the house to lift weights or use bands for weight training. HTH and good luck!

I have to say that I think your husband is very wrong to act this way! Mine used to talk that way, but when he saw how much it hurt me he did come around. I hope yours will come around as well! But, whatever the motivation is, I think the important thing is that we are motivated! I am new to this also, I just started my diet about 2 weeks ago and have not seen a big change yet, but I have cut down on my soda intake (trying to ween myself to cut it out all together) and cut out the fatty sweets and also started taking bike rides. I tryed the gym thing a couple years ago and it didn't work out well, I went about 3 times and paid for a year regardless. I agree with wonderwomen, try to use what you already have around the house to get fit, and walking is great! Best of luck to you!!
