Hey there everyone. :willy_nilly:

Just to introduce myself, I'm a 25 year old male, been fat all my life, never really liked it, but lacked the discipline to lose weight (though I tried plenty).

I've had man boobs for as long as I can remember, and I've NEVER HAD THE CONFIDENCE TO WEAR A T-SHIRT IN THE SUMMER! To wear baggy clothes - sweaters and shirts in the summer, just to hide those embarrassing man-boobs... I'VE HAD ENOUGH!!!

I want to wear that T-shirt in the summer - if not to show off, then just to feel comfortable! And I wanna go to the beach and take off my top and be able to hold my head high with a sense of pride that my body is in peak condition.

I know everything there is to know about losing weight (been reading about it all my life, lol), now I just need to take action - to overcome that psychological barrier that methinks keeps 99.9% of fat people fat.

Wish me luck folks, I'll be posting my pics in the appropriate section of the forum (i assume that's the 'diary' section?) - expect to see some amazing results :p :hurray:

ahh, so 2 people think i'll get a set of ripped six pack abs and have heads turning at the beach. darn, now I'll have to give it my all to live up to that expectation
 
I voted for losing the "humungous ass" because it made me laugh. :D

Good luck with your weight loss and getting fit - losing your moobs. Lucky for you when people lose weight usually their boobs/moobs go too!! (Sucks for me though. lol)

i feel the complete same way about the whole beach scene. i went to 6 flags last year and when it was time to go on the water rides i came out of the locker room in my bathing suit and i felt like all eyes were on me,but not in a good way. i felt like my rolls were just dangling over the swim shorts i had on and my thigh spoke everytime i made a step.. you let me by i let you by.. lol.
i have come to realize if you want something done you have to do it your self and that goes for the changes in your life also. i have made my choice not to feel gross about myself everytime i look in the mirror. or when i walk past a window and see my reflection in it. you can do this. we all can do this. i watch the biggest losers and i am just amazed at how much these people have lost in only 9 weeks. i know i am not going to lose all my weight in such little time but it keeps my head high... just stick to your goal. good luck.. sorry for babbling on :)
 
Best of luck to you, a diary is a great way to express yourself and hold yourself accountable, so defo start one up!!

Have a good read through the stickied threads here aswell..as much as I thought I knew about weight loss etc (like you have been trying most of my life) theres so much info on here I never knew...

: Maggie, I truly believe that everyone has the right to be filled with a powerful sense of pride when looking in the mirror. You go there and lay claim to that right!! Imagine how wonderful it would feel to be on that beech in a bathing suit wrapped tight around a slim sexy body with every single male irresistibly turning his head just to check you out. Imagine how wonderful that would make you feel, and remember that feeling every time you eat, every time you exercise. I know you can make it, keep us all posted on your progress. I'm quite busy atm, but when I get some time I'll have a look at your profile and help cheer you on.

SyNyStEr14 Thanks ^_^ yup, a diary is an excellent way to keep you on the right path. It makes a world of difference when you're able to tell someone about your efforts and achievements. As soon as I get some more free time, I'll definately think about starting a diary. Currently I'm posting my before and after pictures in the before and after section, once a week.
 
thanks that boosted me up alot. while at the gym i will be doing one of my workouts which happens to be right in front of the mirror and i look in the mirror and i tell my self " you can do this" and i continue. it is such a good feeling after a good workout you feel like you have accomplished something.
 
Haha, they have mirrors all over the gym in the free weights area. It helps in three ways.
1. I can see my form from different angles to make sure its correct.
2. I always look good while lifting, its an amazing confidence boost.
3. I can see the hot personal trainers from different angles to give my testosterone a boost.

Good luck! If you're consistant you'll meet the expectations of the poll easy.
 
Hahaha! I love the mirrors at the gym. I SWEAR TO GOD, they have a slimming effect! I always feel good looking in those mirrors. :D
 
I REEEEEALLY wanted to vote for "man boobs", but...eh, I couldn't. You'll lose weight and look great. Hey, that rhymed. Just give it some time and your body will look fine. Oh no, I can't stop making rhymes. Quick, somebody hit me with a sock full of dimes. AHH, OH NO!!! I should probably go. AHH, I did it again!!! When will it end? HELP ME FRIENDS!!! AAH!!!

Hey Snow Predator. I know how you feel. I have them to. I started a diet 3 months ago starting at 365 pounds and am down 40 lbs. Now don't pat me on the back because I cheat. I don't have the will power it takes to just stop eating the thousands of calories I was eating every day. My love for food is a curse. I have a heart condition called Atrial Fribrilation, (abnormal heart beat) and I have high blood pressure along with sleep apnea, all very common among we that are obese. Anyway because of these problems I can't take anything to help me lose the weight At least I couldn't till now. I found a pill I can take that has no stimulants or anything that can harm my system in any way. These pills contain a substance called swell. I take two about an hour before lunch and dinner with 16 ounces of water. The substance of each pill, (Swell) absorbs the water and swells to about the size of an average sized apple partially filling my stomach so at meal time I can't eat as much as I normally do. I know I sound like a spammer, and I do have a web site where you can purchase the product but I won't list it here. I truely love this product because it's working for me and the more I lose the more excited I get which gives me much more of an insentive to excercise and eat healthier so i lose weight even faster. One of the things I love is that I can keep on using it after I hit my target weight to maintain it till my body and mind get used to the new life style. I sincerely believe this product can and will help many people gain back there health and that is truely my number one motive, and If I make a little money doing so, I'm not going to feel bad. You've got to really want it. Find support from friends and family. Realise what it would do to the people who really love you if died for the sake of food. My number one reason for looking for some kind of help to lose weight was the thought of what it would do to my 17 year old son if I were to die. certainly I care more about him than food. The more insentives you have the more power to reach your goal. You can do it my man. By the way my name is Butch.

ChefChiTown: Thanks... but ummm... are you sure you shouldn't be hanging out in the how-to-stop-making-rhymes-and-turning-into-a-nervous-reck forum? :p

Butch: ummm why not just take an apple before every meal? It'll do more than just a sponge of water - the fibre will reduce the absorption of fat from your meal. If you find will-power isn't enough to change your habits, I suggest you look into hypnotherapy. Good luck
