I've been going back and forth with the weight losing thing and just thought that if I joined a forum, that I could meet people in my same situation.. and maybe I could find incentive to better myself.

I know working with others is always better!

Anybody have any safe dieting suggestions?

What works for you?

Welcome!!!

It's always better when you are losing with others. There is a camaraderie and an accountability factor built in when you are with others.

Have a great time!!!

Hi! Glad to have you with us! The support you get from this place is unreal! Anyways, the safest bet you have w/ loosing weight is to eat less and move more. No extreme diets or anything, just start watching your cals. I think 1200-1500 cals is what alot of people do.

The thing is... My biggest problem is chocolate. I'm a chocoholic!

Other than that, I eat hardly ANYTHING but vegetables.... I always drink water... and I walk nearly everywhere I go. My house has stairs and I stay downstairs, so I'm constantly walking up and down them.

I started getting real serious about my weight at the beginning of the school year and lost almost 10lbs. Unfortunately, I slacked and gained about 5 back. The only thing I did was cut back (only because I had to.. I don't have time to eat) and exercise more (I have to walk everywhere on campus).

Immediately, I saw results. Nothing has changed as far as routine meal skipping and walking.. yet, I've gained back.

I don't know...

I just have a REAL hard time losing weight.

I want to focus seriously before things start to get unhealthy.

Hey, are you in college?? Me too! :)

This forum is sooooo helpful! Everyone's so nice and supportive.

Your totally right. Support and motivation are very important especially when it comes to the issue of weight loss:eek: . It always helps to have someone to be accountable to, other than yourself.

I suggest you set up a weight loss diary, to keep track of your daily progress.

Good luck,- as u are about to embark on a life changing journey.:)

Chocoholic here too!

Hey, and welcome. I'm pretty new here too, and I'll admit, a huge chocoholic myself. My diet is decent otherwise. I think if I eliminated chocolate from my diet (besides not being overweight in the first place) my weight loss would go much faster. But I can't! So I've compromised with myself by at least trying to work off the chocolate I eat.

I think it's in my genes. :D

I am also a HUGE chocolaholic. I've actually found that if I buy really good quality dark chocolate, I'm satisfied with only one or two 26 calorie squares per day. Keeps the chocolate cravings at bay with a minimum number of calories.
