Hi all. I am Sally, I am 26 years old and have decided to finally sort my weight problems out. I have just joined a gym as well as doing Taekwondo as I have done for years. I took my initial weight today and look forward to working hard to get it down. I have also cut calories and changed the diet to include more vegetables and less sweets.

I look forward to getting to know you all and reading/responding to posts.

Hi Sally, welcome to the forums! hope you enjoy your stay and find what you need. More veggies and cutting sweets is good. Just cutting down and hopefully eliminating sweets and excess fat alone will cause a good weight drop. It's pretty amazing just how little calories we need to become and stay healthy. Fat is epidemic in the world and is a terrible thing.

Welcome to the forum.

I hope that your gym membership is going well. Also that you are managing to stay away from those sweets.

Increasing water is another brilliant thing to do to try to help to lose weight... A lot of us try to drink 1 fluid ounce of water for every 2 pounds that we weigh.

Cutting out take-aways also really helps us to lose weight. A lot of them are more fattening than they look.

I suggest that you read the following thread - it may help you settle in and make friends

Good luck with your project.
