Quick hello to all! :waving:
I've been lurking for a few weeks and it's time to get and get this party started!
So Im 38 6'3 and currenty I'm weighing in between 295-305 (Seems to go up and down at will). I have a hard time staying motivated, as my job is literally just sitting all day in front of a computer, so the lbs seem to just attach and wont go away. Any tips for the new guy :)
Looking forward to losing it with you all!

Dude welcome! I'm 6'3 as well! I started my work out and calorie was 68 days ago when I hit 257 pounds! The last time I weighed my self was 8 days ago and I was at 222 pounds. This site has helped SO much! I'm going to tell you the same thing I tell people when I welcome them, "I think the best thing is make a diary and post in other diary's to see what people are doing in there every day life with the weight loss and working out! In my sig is a link to mine if you want to see what I'm talking about!"

Thanks!
I started writing down everything this morning, now I just need to get a good calorie count but my first guess is that I was at about 2900 calories today, which I need to get down to under 1800 or so I think, to get a good loss going. But I did manage to burn about 960 or so (based on what the machines said) in the gym, but I have a feeling I'll be hurting tomorrow :)
Was reading your journel, and nice job espically with the issues from the accident. You're doing great!

Welcome Greg! I'm new, too, and trying to get as much information I can. Danny is right in that the diaries have helped me so much. And there are enough guys posting in there you should get plenty of inspiration!

Much success!

Thanks for the kind words! Day two is complete, and so far so good (I got a bit under 1800 calories today). Although I might be pushing the gym a bit too hard as I'm so sore it's not funny, but I know it will pass, and "probally a bit too quickly then it should" :)
My biggest problem is staying motivated for more than a month. And it seems like now everyone wants to make lunch plans all of a sudden.

Yep I know. Everyone eats all the time around here! I allow myself one lunch at the Mexican restaurant per week, and lately I don't even finish that (out of guilt.) But it seems like every day I'm being invited out, or people bring goodies here, or there's some reception . . . Argh! No wonder we gained with all these daily temptations.

hi greg, i think you may be overdoing it slightly , 1800 cals seems a little too low , and its important to reward yourself , i allow myself one cheat meal a week , and i make sure i don't regret it or feel any guilt , i just enjoy it .

Thats a good call. I did cheat tonight and had a small peice of white cake that was in the kitchen. I just couldnt resist :)
