Hi all!

I am a new member to this forum. I'm from Canada and i am 24 years old. I have been working on developing a healthier lifestyle since May 2006, and have currently lost 33lbs. I started at 265lbs and am now sitting at around 232lbs..at my lowest i was down to 228lbs..but that was short lived;) I am trying to lose weight in the healthiest way i can..i eat around 2300 calories per day, and exercise 4-5 times a week, doing both cardio and weights. I usually do weights 2-3 times a week for 45min-1hour, and cardio 2-3 times a week for 30-45 minutes. I really enjoy doing weights, and i really dislike cardio. I'm looking forward to spring so that i can go for walks in the evening again instead of being stuck using the cardio machines in the gym:p

My current weight loss goal is to get to 175lbs, but this number is not set in stone..i just picked it because i remember being that weight at one point and although i didn't like how i looked then, i think i'll look alot different this time since i will be much more toned and healthy.

My weight has fluctuated between 229-232lbs since november, and there are alot of reasons for this, but i'm back on track now and looking forward to making my way into the lower 220s:)

I look forward to getting to know all of you:)

Welcome :) Great job so far and its good your back on track! The holidays were a hard time for all of us with all those foods around! Its a good thing there over for another year!

thanks breezy!
yes between a vacation, christmas, and being sick in january i wasn't very productive weight loss wise but at least i only gained 3 lbs back :)

you have done fantastic!!!! 110lbs lost wow, you should be very proud of your accomplishment :)

Hi Shy! Now that the holidays are over we'll all be fully back on track...just in time for - Valentine's Day!

Don't focus on your long-term goal so much. Stay focused on your short term goals. That will keep you from getting discouraged -- and from unhealthy dieting.

I look forward to reading more about your progress.

hi ahack-
actually that is my strategy as well, to look at things in the short term...5lbs at a time. That is why i set short term goals, as you can see in my signature. :)

Thought i'd pop back here and post an update:

I am currently at 220.0lbs, so down 45lbs all in all. Since i started at 265 and my goal (at the moment) is 175, that means i am exactly halfway. I was down to 216lbs for a short time but i gained back weight, and lost a bit of focus with my eating. Now i'm back in things and ready to focus and get below 200lbs!

Well done on getting to the half-way mark.

Big projects are so difficult they always take a long time.

We all hit times when we get a little less focused. Well done for recognising the fact and getting back on track.:hurray:

Take care
Best wishes
Margaret
