Hi all, im steve and weigh 19st 6lb at 21 years of age, i started jogging 2 weeks ago and have love 5lb's in 2 weeks, i have joined the gym today and want to lose 5 stone in 6 month, i know it alot but i want to get fit for my hoiday to spain.
My girlfriend is 19 and weighs 11st nice and healthy, but i dont want to be big when i go on holiday, i now eat poridge for breakfast, cup of soup for lunch and a main meal (kids size) for dinner, i am also going to the gym everyday, if i carry on this will i lose the 5 stone?

Well, if you've lost 5 lb in 2 weeks, and continue to lose at the same rate, that would be 10 lb a month, and 60 in 6 months. Besides that, you would probably lose at a slower rate as you go along. So, you're going to come up a little short.
 
well even 4/5 would be nice :). I've taken into consideration the less i weight the harder it will be to lose but am so determined to do it :)
 
I just love hearing that word "stone." That is not a word I hear in the U.S., but now know that it is 14 pounds. So 5 stone is 70 pounds. That is a lot of weight to lose. Especially since you weigh 19 stone. It sounds like you and I have the same target weight roughly. I do not know how tall you are but, once you start putting on muscle mass from the gymn your basal metabolism rate will increase. Moving from a sedentary to moderately active to active life will also increase calories burned.

Enjoy the process. Once you enjoy everyday the goal will take care of itself. Eat less calories than you need.
