Hi everyone- I haven't gotten a chance to peruse the website as much as I'd like, but I thought I'd throw out a hello before I start lurking>posting. I'm really glad to have found this forum, and to have some folks to motivate me and hold me accountable.

I was always an average sized kid and teenager. I was in pageants, and also competed in a sport where fitness, grace, and beauty are emphasized. My weight started fluctuating when I was 10 or so and going through puberty. I weighed between 95 and 135 lbs. in high school, and shot up to 155 my senior year after taking birth control. (My bra size went from a 36C to a 38DDD in 3 months!) I gained 30 more lbs. my first year of college, and then lost it in a few months to continue performing. I "retired" from my sport/art at age 20, in 2000. I weiged 160 lbs.

Since then, I have gained over 75 lbs, about 11 a year...I rarely exercise, eat whatever I want, and binge with my fiancee. He's about 20 lbs. overweight, but he's diabetic, so any excess weight is too much. We are marrying in October and I want to lose a significant amount of weight before then. Currently, I hate the following things about my appearance/self-

1.) Sleep apnea!
2.) the double chin.
3.) not being able to find cute clothes
4.) running into people who knew me as a thin girl
5.) being uncomfortable in chairs, standing, etc..
6.) feeling lost in my own skin!
7.) feeling OUT OF CONTROL

My goals are to lose 2-3 lbs.a week until my wedding. Eventually, I'd like to maintain a weight of 146, the perfect size for my build. I am currently a size 20, I'd like to be a 10.

Here's to a new start- 1,200-1,500 calories a day, 20-30 min. walking on the treadmill a day to start!
:) Nice to meet y'all!

Are you going to keep an online diary?

Hi all, and thanks for the welcome! I started an online diary, and I'm going to post pics every 3 weeks, at least for the first few months. Those things will help hold me accountable, and all of you will help inspire me! :D
