Hi everyone,
this can be a little long-winded but i'll try make this as detailed as possible. My name is Sunil..im abit of a sporty person and i really want to have a toned body..its a personal goal of mine..I have a decently healthy diet, and i exercise too..i dont go to the gym but i do runs on the football field and also abit of weights training..
i usually have 2 different routines that i do :
1) i focus on my stamina(bcos im a soccer player), biceps and chest..hence i do runs on the field for about 15 mins worth. Then when i get home, using the 5kg dumbells, i do 4 different weight training exercises..i do 10 sets of 10 repetitions of standing hammer curls (5 sets for each hand), 5 set of 10 repetitions of flat chess presses on the floor, then 5 set of 10 repetitions of push-ups..
2) same running lasting for roughly 15 mins..for the weight training exercises, using the 5kg dumbells, this time i focus on the triceps and chest..so i do 10 sets of 10 repetitions of tricep dumbell extensions(5 sets for each hand), 5 sets of 10 repetition of flat chess flies on the floor, 5 set of 10 repetitions of push-ups..
i take a quick 20 second break or so in between sets and the weight training session usually lasts about 40-45 mins..After doing the running then the weight training, im absolutely exhausted by the end of it..i usually use both routines about 4 times a week so it does tire me out abit amongst other things..but a few things i wanna find out tho..
firstly, the muscles i've gained from lifting a 5kg dumbell weight hasn't been as big as i would want it too...i've definately gained some muscles but i would like my biceps for instance look abit bigger, does that mean i should be lifting like 15kg dumbell instead and hence reduce the number of sets i do ? personally i would like to, cos tats wat frens say i should do..
also, is my routine workout overall good enough? both the running i do as well as the weight training? im curious to know about this...sry if i wrote too much
look forward to hearing from you guys, thanks..
