What is teh best way to lose weight?

you need to sit down and talk to your parents about your goals...

They're the ones that feed you... so they should be aware of what you want to do..

What do your current meals look like and what does your usual exercise look like?
 
I use to weigh 230 pounds and then one day while watching The Biggest Loser, I just decided that I was going to start exercising like hardcore, so I did and I became a bit obsessive with it, and I ended up losing a total of 80 pounds in about 6 months, so they key for my body is exercise!
 
I can't pick one or the other..both are important...I slacked on exercising and still lost my weight, BUT that doesnt mean I'm as healthy as someone that is 20 pounds heavier but exercises...They both are important but both in realistic realms..you're not going to exercise 2 hours a day and eat 1000 calories.. You need to get between 30- 1 hour of exercise..and eat 1500-2000 calories (since you're a male) and if you exercise more you also should consume more..

And I agree very much with above me..my mother helped me SO much when I was 15 and helped me every step of the way.
 
At 13 with your weight and height you don't need to excercise extreme or diet extreme.

You're growing so you don't want to diet extreme. Take up a sport and just be active and watch the sodas and junk foods.

The person who said to talk to your parents had it right. Also ask them if you can make a Doctor's appointment to talk to your doctor about what would be healthy for you to do.
 
I was overweight at 13 too, and if I recall tried to lose weight and ultimately failed because I didn't do it with research.

Another thing I failed at was that I failed to talk to my father about this, who as Mal said, was my carer and provider.

Partake in some sports, don't go crazy on the chocolates and soft drink and get outside once in a while. Don't make the same mistakes I did. :)
 
Don't cut your calories too dramatically. At your age you might stunt your growth.

I was overweight when I was younger too. I slimmed up eventually by joining our schools football team. So I'd say join a sport. Great way to slim up and meet new people.
 
Yea I remember being a bit overweight when I started High school, bit joined football (Wasnt very good) and lost all of it and more. The triple practice days in the summer kicked my ass, and all the running, it dropped off in no time. I was 6'3 at around 240 and within a few months was 185 and felt great. Started off as a lineman, and then went to become an ok running back. really the key is just getting exercise at your age. Everything else will fall into place.
