Heyy!! After years of ignoring the struggle with my weight and trying to decide what to do about it i eventually hit 257 pounds (117 Kilo's) which is alot for a person of my height. The whole time i was yo-yo dieting losing 10 gaining 20 etc. Recently i decided to get my butt into gear, im only young and i have a whole life ahead of me. My family has alot of problems due to weight, heart, diabetes, kidneys etc. and i didnt want to just be another person in my family to be criticised and judged. I feel ashamed that my mother is less then half my size. So i started on the Herbalife diet 5 days ago, i chose to use the safe option rather then going on crazy drugs like duramine (clinical based speed) and as my sister is a distributor of Herbalife we worked out a payment option and now i am happily doing the program. On the 3rd day of the program i had lost 16 cms all together from various parts of my body. My sister has told me its not the amount of weight you lose its the cm's and i believe thats true. You shouldnt necessarily judge a diet on weight loss alone, look at the cm's or in some cases inches your losing from your body rather then what the scales say.

hope you all have successful weight loss

Ashleigh :)

While I don't agree with that style of plan, I'm happy for your weight loss! Keep it up and keep it strong.

May i ask what it is you dont agree with. I read your other post and you seem to have a great deal of knowledge behind you. It would be nice to have another persons perspective.

I'm not a fan of these plans like Herbalife because I think they don't really address the root causes of weight gain. They don't usually teach you how to manage your weight long term. Do you plan to take this for the rest of your life?

Now, that being said, I think it really is helpful to some people if they do learn the right life lessons. Portion control, exercise, proper diet. These are the core foundations of weight loss. Herbalife and other programs do just that but with a shake. I think you could do better for a better life by doing some research, taking time and thinking about your food choices. I want people to make the right choices for them. If this is what works for you then WONDERFUL. I'm all for it. Personally, I think they are things you can do in a healthier, better way than paying some company to feed the diet business.

It seems to be working so far but i wouldnt go so far as too say its a miracle thing because i know its far from it. In the moment i have felt that run down everytime i walked i got breathless after 5 minutes and it doesnt change whether i did it for a week or a month. I do understand portion control and other possible ways of weight management. With this program i was looking for the boost to help me get my life back on track, to lose that little bit of weight so i can walk longer distances. I'm not looking to stay on it forever just for a boost, and as im happy with doing this seeing as this is a really cheap option for me with my sister being a distributor i thought why not instead of going on crazy drugs to get the boost i need. The shakes and tablets are the worst part of my day and the fact you can experience nausea, headaches and a variety of other things with the sudden change in diet its crazy but none the less its so far working. and until it stops working or i get down to my goal weight (65-75 kilos) and can manage my apetite and weight on my own i dont see why i shouldnt try it.

I honestly love that you are as opinionated about things as i am and its great your embracing that part of you.
You do have a very high opinion of the *last resort* diets and so do i, but this is the first time i have tried herbalife and if it works for me it works, in the end i'll manage my weight on my own instead of having to stay on it.

Thanks for your input by the way

I might not like exactly how you are doing it, as I said, that won't stop me from cheering you on. You seem to have a smart attitude about it. Also, I know there are those here on the same plan so I hope they will jump on with their personal experience as well.

watching my calories..that's all. I'm reducing my portions but heck, I sure haven't cut out some things that are bad for me. This weekend, I had pizza but instead of eating half a box like I use to, I had 2 slices total. I'm making smarter choices about the portions.

Also remember at near 400 pounds, I had alot of calories to work with for reduction. If I did just the standard 2000 a day, I would still lose about 3-4 pounds a week. It's going to get harder but that is when I can do other adjustments and adding exercise.
