Hey, I'm 19 years old 5,6-5,7 and weigh 180 pounds and am really not okay with it. I keep trying to do this alone but I'm not able to! please help!

Hey cutegirl25,

Couple of questions to try and help:

1) What are your goals?

2) What is your roadmap to get there? i.e exercise, nutrition... have you counted calories before?

im the same size as you... if you would like a countability partner.. i would love to help! im 5 7' and 182...

The biggest thing to remember is that there is no overnight solution. Pick a day, sooner the better, how about now. Weigh and Tape yourself. Be candid to yourself. Are you happy with your results? Of course not, that's why you are here, right? Well let's do something about it. Eat healthier, eat smarter, be active, work out, walk a dog, jog around the block, get your heart rate up.
A cup of green tea does me wonders in the morning, It's like the key to my ignition (other wise I'm trying to jump-start this motor all day). Drink water, IIRC the ratio for hydration is lbs divided by 2 = oz of water a day to be hydrated. 180 lbs? that's the normal 8 glasses a day plus the waters found in food stuffs. Think about how much a 300 lbs person has to drink. A lot.
Weigh and tape yourself each week and keep it recorded, lb loss, in loss. everything. Put it up on you fridge so you have to look at it every time you reach for a snack. It will remind you of your goal. Take a before picture of you and have it where you can see it. Put it like in the bathroom so you have to see it each day. What I am talking about is psychological warfare against yourself. You want out of where you are, remind yourself where you were. That and you will have a before and after photo and stats to show the WORLD you defeated your demons. You can overcome your greatest adversary, yourself.

Well, you're not alone anymore. We're all here to help you and kick you in your ass when you need it. That's the best part too. You know, kicking someone in the ass? Just the way it feels as your foot sinks into their...eh, nevermind, I'm getting carried away.

Anyway, good luck.

Aloha!

Hey! :waving:

No need to do this alone girl!! :)

There are many of us who are just around your height and weight who you can look to for support, advice and motivation! (of course people who are not your height/weight can help you as well haha)

I am 5'7 and now at around 168, but not too long ago I was your weight, and before that I was all the way at 200lbs!

Anything is possible!

You can do it :)

my goal is 160. I'm trying to get in a exercise routine with cardio, and some basic weight training. trying to eat balanced meals, in moderation thats my biggest issue. and no I have never counted calories before.
