Hey guys. I am a 21 years old girl living in Germany ;) I study in the Netherlands in english and I seriously want to lose some weight.
I am already registered in a German weight loss forum but I thougth why not communicating in english to improve my english.

I appologize but I can only give you information about my weigth and stuff in kg and cm and not in lbs and stuff as I don't know how to calculate that but I hope that's okay for you ;)

I try to loose weigth by eating less (about 1350 calories a day) and doing more exercise (I am registered in a sports club and try to visit it two or three times a week). I already lost 2,5 kg during the last 3 weeks and all in all I would like to lose about 18kg....hope that will work ;)

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and I really apologize for my bad english

have a nice evening

I think I meant "langsam" or slow. I took German in high school.... almost 10 years ago. Deutsch is not boring, I promise.

Yes..."langsam" would make sense ;) But I can believe that learning German is really hard....although my parents are German and it is my mother tongue sometimes it is really confusing ;)

It was difficult, but I loved the class. Deutsch was one of my favorite classes in high school.

Good luck in both your weight loss goals, and your English classes. We're here to help you however you need it.

(by the way... English is just as hard, if not harder than Deutsch).

I also took high school German, but that was 35 years ago for me!

Where in the Netherlands are you? I spent most of 3 years in Hoogvliet/Pernis near Rotterdam from 2001 - 2004. I have also spent some months near Mannheim and Heidelberg in 2000.

Good luck to you on your weight loss program.

Jim

Grüß Gott! (or in your case, Grüße!)

Ich heisse Maureen und ich bin Deutsch (halb). Ich spreche nur ein bisschen Deutsch ...

Willkommen!

funny how many of you speak German ;)

but just to mention: I would never ever use Grüß Gott....seriously not. It is typically Bavarian an i am NOT from bavaria ;) we are used to say: Hi, Hallo, Guten Tag and things like that ;) But thanks a lot for that very warm welcome ;) and your German seems to be quite good ;)

edit: Dam it...I meant hallo, not hello...I am mixing up languages, I seriously should go to bed ;)

Ja, I know that's a Bavarian greeting (and Austrian, too) ...

Do you really only say "Guten Tag"? Never "Grüße"? I guess it's a regional thing ;) I've never been to Northern Germany ...

ich bin angelica, und ich wohne in deutschland für acht jahren.

I live in Western Germany ;) NRW it is not really north. No I would never use Grüße. Guten Tag would be really polite and I wouldn't use it to greet friends and Family ;) To those I would just say: Hey, Hallo or things like that ;)
